Brian “The Beast” MInto

Brian Matthew Minto was born January 27, 1975 in the town of Butler, PA. At age 27, Brian turned pro in 2002,winning his first 18 bouts and putting himself on the map with a stunning victory over Vinny Maddalone.

After his first defeat to Tony Tubbs, Minto embarked on an impressive nine-fight win streak, which included a TKO victory in a rematch against Vinny Maddalone, an undefeated record on ESPN Boxing programming (Friday Night Fights) over Danny Batchelder, Billy Zumbrun, and John Poore, and an upset over the returning Axel Schulz.

On August 14th, 2009, Brian fought for the interim WBO NABO Heavyweight Title against Donnell Holmes. Brian won the bout after a stoppage in the fourth round, giving Holmes his first loss of his career.

In his toughest test in his career, Brian would fight on the undercard of the Paul Williams/Sergio Martinez fight on December 5th, 2009.

Minto would challenge for several more titles, including the WBO Cruiserweight title, the WBC Continental Americas Cruiserweight Title and the WBO Oriental Heavyweight Title, which he won in a stunning upset over New Zealand’s Shane Cameron.

Brian would end his career in 2016, in front of his hometown crowd in Butler, PA.
